What’s Your “ONE THING”?

Key Text: Psalm 27:4

“One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.”

New entrepreneurs face a lot of pressures and are usually in a haste to quickly succeed. And so, one of their greatest temptations is to get their hands into tons of businesses, projects and activities; spreading themselves too thin and splitting their limited resources (time, money, emotions) amongst so many engagements all at the same time.

Unfortunately, many of us have failed to achieve excellence not because we do not have the ability and/or resource that will enable us do so, but because we are caught up in the web of “Seeking too many things” all at the same time.

David remarks in the text above that to “behold the beauty of the Lord” you must seek after your “one Desire”- It is extremely critical to look at the many things you do today and narrow it down so as to focus on the “one thing” that you will want to be remembered for in the next twenty years.  This is usually a big issue especially for multi-talented people- but we must realize that we cannot do everything great.confused

Jason Goldberg, Fab Founder says; Find your “one thing” and do that “one thing” better than anyone else.

Decide on the product or services that you want to offer, focus on your real mission, properly define your target market and resist the urge of chasing every business and everyone around. Decide on the sport you want to play, decide on the career you want to pursue, redefine your ministry around the “One Thing” that differentiates you and deliver values around your core strength.

Doing all sorts without a focus will only create a confused identity and give you mediocre results.

You may be able to do a lot of things, but one of the biggest decisions you may have to make in order to change your success story especially if you are still struggling  is the decisions of WHAT NOT TO DO NOW, or WHAT TO STOP DOING.

Choose your “one thing”, do it well and excel at it.

You will succeed!

Prayer: Lord, open the eyes of my heart, reveal to me what I need to focus on today, and help me in the fulfillment of my Life assignment. I shall not be distracted from my core purpose in Jesus name.
