Set The Records Straight!

Key Text: John 21:11

Simon Peter went up and dragged the net to land, full of large fish, ONE HUNDRED AND FIFTY THREE; and although there were so many, the net was not broken.

One of the ways to know whether or not you are growing is to keep proper records of the resources that pass through your hands. Unfortunately, many people do not want to be bogged down with details and only few will take their time to keep proper accounts of the state of affairs of their business or their personal lives.

Jesus had a treasurer to keep records of resources, and the scripture talks about God keeping “Books” in heaven, even though He is All-Knowing. All these point to the inevitable importance of record keeping.

The scripture is filled with illustrations of proper record keeping; one of such is the key text above where the disciples counted 153 large miraculous fish. The miraculous feeding of the 4,000 and that of the 5,000 people are all instances where Jesus insisted on proper accountability.

Know well the condition of your flock, and pay attention to your herds, for wealth is not forever; not even a crown lasts for all time. Proverbs 27:23-34

You show God how ready you are for his blessings by how detailed you are in accounting for the resources He passes through your hands. You don’t have to be a chartered accountant to be accountable. And waiting for your company to become BIG before you start keeping proper records is putting the cart before the horse.

“Well done, you good and faithful servant!’ said his master. “You have been faithful in managing small amounts, so I will put you in charge of large amounts. Come on in and share my happiness!’ Matt 25:23(GNT)

Do you know how much you own? Do you know how much you owe? How would you know how much profit you’ve made and how do you ascertain how much tithes and offerings to return so as to continually commit to the covenant of prosperity without proper records?

Commit to setting the records straight today. Separate business funds from your personal and family funds. Keep proper record of your sales, analyze your costs, take notes of your expense and get set for the next level of God’s blessings.

You will prosper!

Prayer: Thank you Lord for the blessings you have bestowed into my life, help me to be faithful over what has been entrusted into my hands as I get ready for the next dimension of your prosperity.
