Resolve Ahead of Time

Key Text: Daniel 1:8

But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way.

Decisions are an integral part of daily living. An average person makes about 70 to 80 decisions per day:  What to eat, drink, wear, what to read, what route to take to work, what to say and what not to say, how to act and react, and lots more. Some decisions are more important than others; some decisions are easy while others may be tough to make. To succeed however, one must consistently make good and sound decisions.

Successful people have simplified their decision making process by making use of the power of RESOLUTIONS. These resolutions help them get through the decision making process much quicker and with less stress. It frees up more time for crucial decisions, while keeping mundane daily decisions at bay.

Daniel and his friends mastered the use of RESOLUTIONS, and this got them to the top. They used it so much that they’ve decided on their menu ahead of time. The result – They became ten times wiser than their counterparts (Daniel 1:20).

President Obama said this about himself: “You’ll see I wear only gray or blue suits, I’m trying to pare down decisions. I don’t want to make decisions about what I’m eating or wearing because I have too many other decisions to make.”

Make up your mind on how you want to run your business, decide on how to treat your customers (Prestigious or not), how many sales call you must make per day, what quality of work will you produce, how many pages of your book you must write a week, how many chapters of scriptures to read daily, what types of things you will allow yourself to view, read, or hear. Make up your mind to work very hard, and resolve to succeed without any excuse.

Most importantly, resolve to obey God irrespective of the circumstance, and watch heaven open upon your life.

Prayer: Sweet Holy Spirit, help me to consistently make the right decisions that will thrust me forward in the direction of my destiny.

You will succeed.
