The Power of Questions

Key Text: Luke 18:35-37

As Jesus approached Jericho, a blind man was sitting by the roadside begging. When he heard the crowd going by, HE ASKED WHAT WAS HAPPENING, they told him, “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by.

The most creative and successful people in the world tend to be expert questioners. They’ve mastered the art of inquiry, raising questions no one else is asking—and finding the answers everyone else is seeking. They are not scared or ashamed to ask naïve or seemingly “foolish” questions. Their minds are always open and at alert.

The blind man in our key text was on guard, he was actively seeking for opportunities, and through the power of questioning he regained his sight. His question that day set him free for life. Can you imagine if he just sat quietly begging for alms?

The genesis of the Polaroid Instant camera came as a result of a 3 year old girl’s question. Mr. Edwin Land, the founder of the revolutionary camera in the 1940s took a picture of his daughter with a standard camera while they were on vacation. His daughter wanted to see the picture immediatelyPolarid-Main; she didn’t know it had to go for the darkroom processing. The little girl asked “Daddy, why do we have to wait?” That Naïve question got Mr. Edwin Land thinking, and BOOM- the first Polaroid instant camera that immediately prints pictures was launched on February 21, 1947. Asking the right questions opens us up to a world of endless possibilities

Knowledge is having the right answer: Intelligence is asking the Right Question.

Many miss their opportunities because they are either too proud or too scared to ask questions. They allow their current realities to destroy their questioning capacities. Never get to the point where you are too brilliant to ask questions. Questions are keys to opportunities. Albert Einstein said “I have no special talent, I am only passionately curious”

Never make the mistake of assuming what your clients or potential customers need: go ask them. Questions like: How can I serve you better? If there is something you want to change about your work, what will it be?” Questions that challenges status quo- Why must we continue to do this thing this same way?. Ask yourself -How can I be better today? Have I achieved my set goals today? And very importantly ask God the big Question: Why am I here? The bible says “ASK” and it shall be given…

Prayer: Sweet Holy Spirit, Grant me the agility of mind to always ask right questions, and reveal to me answers to life’s questionings.

You will Succeed!
