Pictures of My Mind

Key Text: 1 Kings 18:43-44(a)
And said to his servant, “Go up now, LOOK TOWARD THE SEA.” So he went up and looked, and said, “There is nothing.” And seven times he said, “Go again.” Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, RISING OUT OF THE SEA!”

Do you know that high achievers do more by engaging the power of positive mind pictures? They understand that the predominant picture in our mind is what crystallizes into our material world.

young smiling girl making photoWhen Elijah expected the miracle of the
rain he told his servant to look TOWARD THE SEA and not just anywhere. It was the sea that carried the picture of water that could produce the expected rain. After seven times of concentrated “looking” and praying, the sign of the rain showed up OUT OF THE SEA and there was a heavy down pour.

Jacob used the same principle and became very wealthy. He made animals reproduce whatever color of offspring he desired by forcing them to look at a particular image (poplar rods) while they mated. (Gen 30:25-41). Isn’t that amazing? If it works on animals, it will work much better for you.

Understand that the eye is the largest
window into the heart, whatever pictures get in there becomes our reality. No wonder proverbs 4:23 says “Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life”.

What is your deepest dream and desire? What are you keeping before your eyes? If you do not like the reality in your life, career or business today, you can change it by literally changing the pictures that you constantly look at. You may have to stick pictures of your desires (career, house, lifestyle, office, etc.) on the wall of your room, maybe even write a cheque to yourself and carry it in your wallet all the time. With constant concentration and prayers you will see the results show up.

And of course, as you focus of God daily, he will transform you to becoming more like him.
You will enjoy abundance of rain.

Prayer: Father, grant the positive desires of my heart. Transform me daily as I focus on your word.

Stay blessed.
