Key Text: Psalm 37:23
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighted in his way.
The key text above is one of the scriptures that get believers excited. But a second and critical look at that scripture can make it less exciting. It says God orders S-T-E-P-S. Using steps on the way to our desired destination may be time consuming, steps may be painful to climb; going through the S-T-E-P-S may really be an excruciating experience.
Many desire to be on the STAGE without using the STEPS. The “STAGE” represents a desirable level while the “S-T-E-P-S” represents the process of getting to our desired destination.
Who doesn’t long for the applause of friends and family? Who doesn’t crave the sensational accolades of peers and protégées, not to mention the benefits that accompany it? But trying get to the “STAGE” while avoiding the “S-T-E-P-S” may be an impossible task, perhaps a tragic one.
Paul says in 2Timothy 4:7-8(a), “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith, finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness”.
Don’t try to jump on the stage, use the stairs…
Go through the processes of becoming an expert, learn the onions of your trade, learn how to manage people, don’t quit selling because some people said “NO”, learn to control your emotions, learn to handle fear and crisis, follow instructions, obey government regulations, put in the hard work, learn from every mistakes; learn as much as possible ON THE STEPS: by the time it’s all said and done, you would have earned the right to be on the “STAGE”.
God is not trying to prepare a blessing for you; He is preparing YOU for the blessing.
It is what you learn on the S-T-E-P-S that keeps you on the STAGE.
You will get to the top.
Prayer: Father, grant me the tenacity to submit and work with you as you order my steps.
Have a blessed week ahead.
